I. Project Overview
The Henderson Project is an old job from 2022 that was a heavy duty exterior renovation, involving a whole lot of decking and roof construction!
This project involved framing repairs, electrical trim out, wood rot removal, and installation of a brand new deck!
II. Project Timeline
The Barton project ran from late June to early August of 2023. Constant communication and oversight through our project software, Buildertrend, allows all of our clients to be completely aware of all aspects of design and construction from start to finish!

III. Design-Build-Remodel
The Henderson home’s exterior was massively decayed with wood rot, and there was much to be done: demolition and removal of the affected areas was the start, including demolition of the original deck!
You can see just how dark and filled with moisture the wood is in these pictures!
You can particularly see where the moisture had seeped in the joists and boards of the deck.
In a state as humid as Alabama, preventing internal moisture buildup is critical to the longevity of exterior structures.
This is where a ton of the moisture was coming from that affected the rest of the deck and walls of the home.
Wood rot is a dastardly and deceptive threat to your home’s health, because by the time symptoms, like water damage, show up, probably the only course of action is to dismantle and replace the rotted section, instead of anything simply preventative.
After Reliable fixed up the wood rot and moisture issues with the decking, we began construction of a brand new deck for the Hendersons!
Screen installation for the deck came about a month after construction of the deck, as the last part of the project!
Overall the Henderson project was a study more in damage repair than a lot of our other projects. There were cosmetic upgrades of course, but the main focus of the project was preventing further damage to the home by renovating and remodeling horrific water damage!
IV. Conclusion of the Henderson Project
The Henderson project is a great example of how it doesn’t matter how big your project is, or how expensive the materials are, or even if it isn’t the most technically challenging project. What matters in a remodel is changing someone’s home for the better!
