I. Project Overview
Ms. Frances Taylor’s Pelham, AL kitchen remodel project could be described as smaller than a lot of similar projects, but that doesn’t mean Reliable has to also shrink our professional skills too!
For this kitchen remodeling project the main meat and potatoes were the installation of beautiful new countertops and splash tiles, as well as some new appliance installation and drywall repair and painting!
II. Project Timeline
The Taylor project ran from July 21st to August 15th of 2024. Constant communication and oversight through our project software, Buildertrend, allows all of our clients to be completely aware of all aspects of design and construction from start to finish!

III. Design-Build-Remodel
Reliable began the project by removing Ms. Taylor’s cabinetry to make room for the new appliances and the required wiring, after laying down the proper floor protection of course!
We also put up protective sheets around the parts of the cabinetry that were staying, and thusly could not be damaged.
We had to commence to drywall repair when we removed the original backsplash tiles, and also because rewiring had to occur to accommodate new wiring and water systems for the brand new faucet Ms. Taylor had selected!
You can see what the back of a backsplash looks like, and what it looks like when there’s no oven! As we technically qualify this as the “demolition” phase of the project, all of this was promptly cleaned up and disposed of.
“Golden Skyline” Quartz countertops were what Fran chose for the kitchen, and isn’t it a beautiful choice! There aren’t actually many clients that don’t change the cabinetry along with their countertops that we can think of in recent memory, but when you get a client that *doesn’t* want to change their cabinetry, it makes their countertop selections all the more important!
A very common mistake with lesser experienced craftsmen is leaving too much overhand on a piece of countertop that interferes with the space left for appliances!
Luckily, since Reliable is no spring chicken, we’re more than experienced with measurements and accommodating existing appliance sizes, so that there’s no lost time or extra expenses fixing such a costly mistake!
You can see how harmonious Ms. Taylor’s backsplash and countertop selections are with the original cabinetry! You can also see how spotless the floor is, which is the benefit of using floor protection like Trimaco X-Board! Not a scuff to be seen!

IV. Conclusion of the Taylor Project
The Taylor project was smaller than some of our other projects, but size isn’t what determines a remodeling project’s success. Planning, execution, and faithfulness to the vision of our clients is what makes a remodel great!
