Kitchen Remodeling Contractors in Birmingham, AL
Kitchen Remodeling Specialists With Over 30 Years of Experience
When the kitchen stops working, the whole house feels it, not enough counter space, storage that fights you, a layout that keeps everyone bumping into each other at dinnertime. A kitchen remodel is your chance to fix the flow, not just the finishes. At Reliable, one design-build team handles the layout, cabinetry, and construction together, so your kitchen ends up working the way your family actually lives, and looking like a room you want to spend time in.
The layout matters more than the finishes
It’s tempting to picture a kitchen remodel as new cabinets and countertops. Those matter, but the biggest wins come from rethinking how the space works: opening the kitchen to the living area, relocating the sink for a better work triangle, or finding a pantry in what’s currently dead space. We start with how you cook, host, and gather, then design the finishes around that.
How Reliable does it
Because we design and build under one roof, you’re not handing off between an architect, a designer, and a separate contractor. One team owns the whole project, from the first layout sketch to the last piece of trim. We use bracketed pricing early so you can shape the scope before anything’s committed, and Buildertrend so you can follow progress and reach us at every step.
Our Process
Intake call and photos
Call or fill out the Project Assessment Intake form. Within one business day we send a short questionnaire and photo instructions. It takes most people about fifteen minutes.
FreeYour bracket estimate
Usually within three business days, we call with a low-to-high price range for your kitchen. If it’s above your budget, we adjust the scope, phase it, or tell you plainly it isn’t the right fit.
FreeOn-site visit and Design Agreement
If the bracket works, we visit your home and refine it. Under a Design Agreement we produce as-built and proposed drawings, a line-item scope and an allowance schedule.
Design fee applied to your depositSelections and ordering
You approve the drawings, choose cabinets, countertops and tile, and sign the Construction Agreement. Materials are ordered before demolition, so your home isn’t torn open while we wait on parts.

Our long-standing trade partners build to the approved scope and price. You see the schedule, daily logs, photos and invoices in Buildertrend. We finish with final inspections, the punch list, your walkthrough and warranty documents.

What a Reliable kitchen remodel can include
- Custom cabinetry (we’re a Wellborn dealer) and built-in storage
- Countertops, tile, and backsplash
- Layout reconfiguration and wall removal
- Lighting, electrical, and appliance planning
- Flooring and full finish work
Countertops are where kitchen budgets drift most. Quartz, granite, butcher block and solid surface differ a lot in price per square foot, and edge profiles, cutouts and backsplash height add to it. We price countertops as a line item in your scope, with an allowance you can see, so you know what your choice costs before it’s ordered.
