I. Project Overview
We’ve worked with the Blalock family on a number of projects over the past four to five years, and we’ve decided to highlight the best parts of each project!
Reliable remodeled their kitchen, did interior renovations and repair, and interior painting for Mr. Blalock!
II. Project Timeline
The first project for Mr. Blalock took place between January and June of 2021, the second was smaller, taking place within a single week in July of 2023, and the most recent project similarly took a week in March of 2025. Constant communication and oversight through our project software, Buildertrend, allows all of our clients to be completely aware of all aspects of design and construction from start to finish!

III. Design-Build-Remodel
The first project Reliable completed for the Blalock family was a kitchen remodel!
Reliable begins every project by laying down protective floor coverings and commencing to demolition! There was a lot to tear out in this kitchen, as we had to make room for new countertops and cabinetry!
We then began painting the old cabinetry that would be reinstalled in the kitchen!
The Blalock family chose SW 7029, “Agreeable Gray”, from Sherwin-Williams®, with a glossy finish for their cabinets, a near timeless choice that expands any kitchen!
Removal of the cabinets at this stage wasn’t just for the painting, it also helped us access the appliance connections, as well as the plumbing and electrical connections!
You can see in the third picture where we laid out Trimaco X-Board, a protective sheet for flooring that prevents any damage to the interior of homes we work inside of!
Reliable finished painting the rest of the cabinetry, and the doors were ready to be reinstalled!
We also finished the electrical and plumbing rough for the brand new gas cooktop and sinks for the countertops the Blalocks had chosen.
Installation of the new sink hardware and tub went swimmingly, and we also installed a brand new tile backsplash to match the new cabinetry!
The Blalock’s chose gray backsplash tiles from Intermatex, with warm gray grout and brushed and anodized nickel wall trim! We’re actually unsure if Intermatex, a Spanish company, even still sells this same kind of backsplash! The closest we can still find are their York and Tribal lines of tile.
The original Blalock kitchen remodel project was simple, clean, and efficient, just like the end result of our efforts! Their new kitchen has brought them joy for years since!
It would be about a year until the Blalocks contacted us again for another minor remodel project!
The second Blalock project consisted solely of exterior work, and involved some carpentry repairs, adjusting their rear patio, and repainting their door with a fresh clear coat of paint!
We love when we get repeat customers, not just because of the obvious reasons, but it’s a testament to how the Design-Build process really is incomparable and stays with our clients long after we leave their homes!
The exterior trim repairs were simple, but still necessary to not only maintain curb appeal, but the health of the home’s exterior!
The Blalock’s rear patio needed minor repairs as well, which Reliable completed over the course of two days. Overall the second project took a week exactly.
In March of 2025, Reliable was once again contacted by Mr. Blalock for another project!
Along with some minor exterior repair, the main focus of this third project was some interior painting! As you can see, it revolved around the master bedroom and master bathroom!
IV. Conclusion of the Blalock Project
The Blalock project was a prime example of how the Design-Build process creates a trust between the homeowner and the contractor, and that trust sticks in the minds of homeowners so that whenever they need something remodeled, they come right back to the Reliable contractor!
