Let’s start this talking about the Knighten’s Kitchen Transformation Project in Hoover, AL:
We started this job for Mrs. Heather Knighten in late November of 2022, initially as just a simple Kitchen Remodel job in the Riverchase subdivision of Hoover, AL. As you can see, the Knighten family wasn’t particularly thrilled with their kitchen; the space itself is large, and yet the original cooking areas were rather small, creating a feeling that the kitchen wasn’t utilizing the space as best as it could.
After we got into contact with Heather and provided our design notes, she decided that a Full Kitchen Remodel project was the best solution to go with for updating her kitchen; Reliable’s plan was to remove the island and stove, and to replace the countertops with an L-shaped countertop, maximizing the utility of the available space, while creating a far more luxurious and modern style.
Once we got to work on the kitchen, Reliable also consulted with Mrs. Knighten about the state of her roof: there were multiple problems with her roof, causing leaks and a malformed appearance that desperately needed attention. What was just initially a simple Kitchen Remodel job increased in scope to include an Exterior Renovations & Repair project, and we soon got to work on roofing repair.
For the Kitchen Remodel, Reliable began a Quartz Countertop Installation, and Heather decided on “White Sand” color from Cosmos Quartz. She also decided that the window from the kitchen looking into the other room should be walled up, and a new stove installed where the sink originally was.
Roofing repair can be tricky work, but otherwise is relatively straightforward. It definitely isn’t for anyone afraid of heights! Reliable takes every safety precaution when it comes to potentially hazardous situations.
Mrs. Knighten wanted a special kind of tile for the backsplash in her kitchen, and she chose a gorgeous MLDO Metro White Concorde, in 4×12, with brushed nickel wall trim and warm gray grout. The unique, eye-catching pattern of the tile accentuates the stark white of the countertops and underlit cabinetry, and has an aura of sophistication that elevates the cooking experience. This Kitchen Transformation project was shaping up quite nicely at this stage!
Heather also decided to update her flooring, not just in her kitchen! 1.5 Inch Red Oak Hardwood Flooring was her choice, and what a choice it is! It was really important to match the flooring she already had in other areas of the home, for a seamless transition from one room to another.
The before and after images don’t do the real thing justice; everyone involved was more than pleased with this kitchen transformation project in the Hoover, AL area, and the new kitchen area is far larger and more usable than it ever was before!
