I. Project Overview

Mike and Teresa Reed’s Hoover, AL Master Bathroom Remodel was part of a bigger Whole House Remodel, but the bath was where the meat and potatoes of the project laid.

The star for this master bathroom remodel project was the installation of a frameless glass enclosure for the curbless shower, which might be our most gorgeous example of a curbless shower yet!

II. Project Timeline

The Reed project ran for four months, from January to April of 2023. Constant communication and oversight through our project software, Buildertrend, allows all of our clients to be completely aware of all aspects of design and construction from start to finish!

III. Design-Build-Remodel

We began the Reed’s Master Bathroom project by starting the plumbing rough-in for the new sinks and shower that were going to be installed later in the project. We then had to pour concrete over the rough-in to fill in the hole we made.

We also began, and finished, the framing for the new curbless shower, after we installed all the appropriate elements before we started laying down more material.

Drywall installation was next on the docket, as we created new walls to build out the space for the new bathroom!

Reliable starts every project by installing floor protection for the homes we’ll be working in. Our favorite floor protection is Trimaco X-Board, which has leak resistant protection to prevent any kind of damage from hurting our client’s homes!

After installing the appropriate flooring material, Reliable Design-Build-Remodel began Cabinet Installations, as we installed these cabinets to compliment the new shower.

The next thing was the trim; the trim had been completed, as well as all paint prep; Floor tiling was subsequently the next to be completed as we got ready for the flooring installation for the rest of the house the following week.

With the tile flooring install completed, we were near completion of this curbless shower entrance!

We continued progress for this curbless shower project with the installation of backerboard and the shower pan. Shortly after, Reliable installed the waterproofing fabric for this shower.

We were then hard at work with Wall Painting, and finishing up the waterproof fabric installation for the shower!

Here are pictures of Reliable’s pro subcontractors showing their expert Painting skills! This was one of the parts of the project that took this from a Master Bath remodel into a fully fledged Whole House Remodel!

We of course also painted the walls of the bathroom after the flooring was completed! We painted with Sherwin Williams® Cashmere interior acrylic latex paint in eggshell sheen, color is Silverpointe!

Reliable had also installed a brand new window for the shower, allowing for a great view of the exterior of the home!

It’s always important to have windows of these sorts be opaque, for dignity’s sake!

We then began installing gorgeous LVP flooring for the rest of the house! At the same time we were nearing completion for the entire project!

For this Whole House Remodel project in the Lake Crest subdivision of Hoover, AL, Reliable Design-Build-Remodel installed a few countertops!

For the Hall Bathroom vanity, we installed a lovely Calacatta Milano Quartz slab, and for the Built-In Bath we installed a Titanium Granite slab.

Reliable finally completed this stellar frameless glass enclosure for the Master Shower. The end result is an absolutely gorgeous curbless shower!

IV. Conclusion of the Reed Project

The Reed project is an astounding example of what a new bathroom can do for your home, enhancing ease of use and providing a decadently spa-like feel!
