I. Project Overview
The Shaffer’s Homewood AL bathroom remodel project has amazing examples of almost every bath service we offer, including shower remodeling, sink remodeling and more!
For this upstairs bathroom remodeling project, we installed brand new cabinets, faucets and hardware, towel bars, vanities, floor tiles, and shower tiles and hardware!
II. Project Timeline
The Shaffer project ran from early July to late October of 2024. Constant communication and oversight through our project software, Buildertrend, allows all of our clients to be completely aware of all aspects of design and construction from start to finish!

III. Design-Build-Remodel
Here, you can see our blueprint layout of their original bathroom space, as well as other blueprints we drew up! These are always part of our expert design services for our clients!
Reliable began the project proper by demolishing the bathroom the original master bathroom!
Demolition is the first step of any project we undertake, and we take great care to make sure that we don’t damage any part of the home by dragging around debris and garbage without proper protection!
After removing or adjusting all furniture that would impede work, we laid down floor protection throughout the house wherever there could be damage to the hardwood flooring of the house.
Reliable starts every project by installing floor protection for the homes we’ll be working in. Our favorite floor protection is Trimaco X-Board, which has leak resistant protection to prevent any kind of damage from hurting our client’s homes!
Reliable began the project proper by demolishing the bathroom the original master bathroom!
Demolition is the first step of any project we undertake,
We then began framing alterations for the master bath, in order to alter the structure of the room to fit the new cabinetry and shower that were yet to come!
As part of the reframing came a lot of behind-the-scenes duct work and structural alterations, as well as installations of things like new vent fans!
We then began demolition on the upstairs hall bathroom as well! This house was getting a complete bathroom makeover from top to bottom!
We then began the rough-in stage for the bathrooms, doing the plumbing and electrical work.
After the plumbing and electrical inspections went swimmingly, we began to start the transformative part of the project: the shower remodels themselves!
After the restructuring of both the main and hall bathrooms, we were ready to build out these new showers, complete with new showers, countertops, and cabinetry!
You can see the process of preparing and tiling a shower! Two very different styles were done for the main and hall baths, but both are a stunning improvement from what the homeowners originally had!

Building a custom shower like this requires that we do shower pan flooding tests after we install the waterproofing fabric, and then we can begin laying down the tile!
The Shaffer’s chose Linear Gray floor tiles from Tektile for the bathroom floors, and for the main shower tiles, the Shaffer’s chose Ceramiche D’arte Portofino tiles, in white and sea water, from B&F Ceramics, which as you can see resulted in an absolutely stunning bathroom remodel!
We also installed the cabinetry at the same time for this Homewood AL bathroom remodel! The cabinetry came from Hardware Resources, a vendor that we absolutely love to source our materials from!
These gorgeous cabinets were installed and then were ready to accept the brand new Quartz and Marble countertops!
IV. Conclusion of the Shaffer Project
The Shaffer project was strictly a bathroom job, and what a bathroom job it was! The material selections alone are enough to show anyone just what a difference can be made for an interior space through a Design-Build remodel, but the fact we were able to create exactly what the client wanted was amazing!
