Mrs. Amy Carpenter’s kitchen remodel project was an example of how Reliable’s expert service can help our clients dreams become reality, especially if our client had previously hired another contractor that did unsatisfactory work.

For this Kitchen Remodeling project, we removed a wall to expand the open kitchen space, along with replacing all the cabinetry and countertops, as well as relocating an HVAC system in order to create more space.

Reliable began the project by assessing Mrs. Carpenter’s original kitchen space, as well as getting the details of her original kitchen remodel from the previous contractor!

In 2022 they hired, and fired, the original contractors who, after the project started, they had no communication with. Considering this was a simple kitchen layout overhaul, Reliable was eager to show just what a good contractor can do!

After removing or adjusting all furniture that would impede work, we laid down floor protection throughout the house wherever there could be damage to the hardwood flooring of the house.

Reliable starts every project by installing floor protection for the homes we’ll be working in. Our favorite floor protection is Trimaco X-Board, which has leak resistant protection to prevent any kind of damage from hurting our client’s homes!

Reliable began the project proper by removing all of the original cabinetry and appliances, and we began to remove the wall to make more kitchen space. We had to install a brand new support beam, as seen in the bottom right picture, to support the new structure.

The little wall cubby you can see in the top left picture was a tricky bit of remodeling, because the one of the biggest problems with the Carpenter’s kitchen is that the bottom base cabinets were unusable because there was an HVAC return air box and grille vent located inside the cabinets; Reliable relocated the vent to take up the space of the cubby instead!

A tricky part of the project due to space constraints below the floor system into the HVAC equipment was the relocation of the HVAC return air. We chose the existing chase under the diagonal cubby as a perfect candidate. Our heating and air technician did an expert job the relocation and now the system receives the recommended air flow to properly cycle the condition air in the house. After the installation of the support beam, Reliable began working on all the rough-ins for the remodeled space that were required: electrical, plumbing, and especially HVAC, since we had to move the HVAC grill filter as we stated above! We also completed the framing rough-in, which had to be done before inspections could begin!

Inspection comes after we finish the rough-in stage for every project we do, and after we passed all of our Jefferson County inspections, we moved on to the drywall stage, which is one of the most important parts of the project!

Mrs. Carpenter chose Basinite Legacy floor tiles, in Ivory, and Myorka White backsplash tiles for the kitchen! Mrs. Carpenter’s floor and splash tile choices were specifically tailored with our designer Jennifer to match the wall color of the home!

You can see just how stunning of a transformation these material selections helped make, just look at the spacious kitchen area compared to their original kitchen! These Quartz countertops are the cherry on top of this unbelievable monochromatic kitchen!
