I. Project Overview
Ms. Audrey Austin’s complete bathroom remodel is truly stunning, and a testament not only to the fine materials used in construction, but to the process that makes that remodel as efficient and pain-free as possible!
For this project, Reliable built out a brand new shower and installed new cabinetry and sink hardware! This involved installing drywall, lighting, tile backer board, waterproofing, and more!
II. Project Timeline
The Austin project ran from late April to late June of 2024. Constant communication and oversight through our project software, Buildertrend, allows all of our clients to be completely aware of all aspects of design and construction from start to finish!

III. Design-Build-Remodel
The Austin project began, as all projects do, with several design meetings and site visits, where our team, working closely with our trusted specialists and contractors, refined the drawings and reviewed the project’s scope of work. These early steps also included material selections, deliveries, and preparation for plumbing, so that there would be no delay when the project started!
The first step of course would be to lay down floor protection, so that any debris from demolition of the bathroom won’t hurt the floor of the home!
The Austin family relayed to us that the mainline focus of the project would be the installation of a brand new shower!
Once material selections are coordinated, the on-site work truly begins with demolition and framing alterations!

Demolishing the shower ceiling and walls is of paramount importance, not only in order to see if there is any underlying damages due to water-related rot, but also just because we have to in order for the plumbing rough-ins!
From there, we focused to the actual shower build-out, beginning with the plumbing rough-in, then moving on to the pre-slope installation, and then the shower pan liner, all of which are critical for proper drainage and long-term waterproofing!
Regular inspections are always scheduled at the right milestones to confirm the work meets building codes before moving forward!
After inspections, the project transitioned into rebuilding and finishing stages!
Drywall installation, lighting in the shower ceiling, tile backer board, and waterproofing are steps layered carefully to create a durable new foundation for the tile!
The stunning tile Ms. Austin chose is Icaro Calacatta Oro!
Tile delivery is timed just before installation, and wall tile, recessed niches, shower floor, trim, and grout are installed in a logical sequence that allows for proper curing and precise placement!
The floor tile Ms. Audrey chose is from the Hyde Park Penny Round collection from B&F Ceramics Design Showroom, purchased from our longtime trusted vendor Issis & Sons!
We were nearing the end of the project, and it was time to take measurements for the custom glass enclosure, followed by trim work, the final plumbing inspection, and glass door installation!
Ms. Audrey chose quite the selection of hardware for her new bathroom! The sink faucet is a Delta Woodhurst Pop-Up faucet, in Venetian Bronze, and the shower faucet is also from Delta, again in Venetian Bronze!
Overall, this Hoover, AL bathroom renovation was completed swiftly and without major hassle or headache for the client, a promise on which we deliver every single time!
